75 years ago today, Action Comics #1 hit newsstands, introducing the world to the world's greatest superhero. His origin has been altered a number of times over the years, but he remains a survivor from the doomed planet Krypton. Kal-El was sent here as an infant by his father, Jor-El, who knew that he would grow on Earth to have powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Along with the changes to his history, his power set has changed a bit as well. At first, he was unable to fly. But he was able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.
